SRHS and the Phoenix Symphony "One Nation" Concert

SRHS and the Phoenix Symphony "One Nation" Concert

03/01/2008

On Saturday, March 1, 2008 students from Salt River High School joined with the Phoenix Symphony to perform the annual One Nation Reservation Concert.  This concert is performed every spring and the music students from SRHS play side by side with the symphony.

The One Nation Project, now in its eighth year, provides a tremendous avenue for musical growth in our young musicians through private instruction and the presence of professional musicians on our campus.  This interaction has opened up an entirely new world to them, a source of experiences previously untapped.  They have been growing musically every season since its inception.

Overall, our goals of increasing access for a broader community, enhancing the SRPMIC music programs, cultivating cross-cultural awareness, increasing the number of teachers, better preparing the teachers for the experience, and improving communication between the Symphony and the Community, are being realized.

It’s exciting to see where we’ve been, where we are, and even more exciting to see the promise of where we’re going.  We hope you come along with us….
