09/04/2009 - Student Council Canidate Election Speeches
The 2009 – 2010 Salt River High School Student Council is anticipating a fun filled year of building relationships and promoting the progress of the student body and community. This year’s Student Council consists of Junior High students, Amari Gonzales (President), Ryan Prieto (Vice President), Timmea Sampson (Treasurer), and Lane Yazzie (Secretary. The High School Student Council is represented by Mah-vic Masten (President), Peno Galvan (Vice President), Michelle Lewis (Secretary), Jessica Ruiz (Treasurer), Emily Thomas (Representative), Angelica Gonzales (Representative), Jeremiah Shaw (Treasurer), and Tanya Marceau (Representative).
A few of the events Student Council will be assisting with is this year’s Homecoming Spirit Week, the Homecoming Parade, and fundraising to attend various leadership conferences.
Participation considered an extracurricular activity and all council members and officers must maintain good academic standing and attendance. This year’s Student Council advisors are Ms. LaRue Smith and Ms. Bridget Valenzuela (7th grade Science).
