Tribal Zoning Conference on Future Community Development

The Community Development Department and Salt River High School Social Studies Department coordinated an opportunity for students to have input into the Zoning Ordinance and Design Guidelines Update. Four types of land use was reviewed, agriculture, commercial, preserve, and residential. The focus of this session was the commercial land use and design. Students gave suggestions related to economically desirable, environmentally sensitive and culturally responsive zoning and design. Thanks to the Community Development Department for allowing our students to take an active role in their government and community.
