The Early Childhood Education Center is tribally and federally funded to provide comprehensive education and developmental services to preschool-aged children. Hours of operation are from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. for full day and 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. for part day. Bus service is provided for part day students who qualify. Federal and tribal guidelines apply to eligibility including age, income level, and residency. Children who are three or four years old by August 31st of the current school year may apply. Children do not need to be potty-trained to enroll.
The preschool program is designed to prepare children for Kindergarten and includes an age appropriate education with an emphasis on math and literacy skills. Other services include health and nutrition, developmental screenings, and parent training and workshops. Support services for the entire family are available and parent involvement is encouraged as well. Nutritious meals and snacks are provided.
Applications are available at the Early Childhood Education Center located at 4815 N. Center St. Scottsdale, AZ 85256. Please provide the following documentation: child’s birth certificate and social security number, tribal ID cards for parent(s) and child, proof of income for the previous twelve months, and child’s current immunization record. Children with disabilities are encouraged to apply.
