Salt River High School (SRHS) opened in August 2004, and is a North Central Accredited charter school. SRHS receives funding from the State of Arizona, federal grants and the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community. Currently, SRHS has 300 students in attendance, but has the potential to educate 525 students on its award winning campus. Students are recognized for their accomplishments in a variety of ways, including quarterly award luncheons, annual awards banquet, and annual athletic banquet. Parents and Community members are encouraged to join in celebrating their children's success. An enhanced curriculum of Native American arts, cultural studies, basket weaving and beadwork are among many of the courses offered. The School sponsors football, baseball, basketball, cheerleading, softball, volleyball, wrestling, golf, band, orchestra, yearbook, video, creative writing, consumer science and social events such as Dances, Pep Rallies and a magnificent Prom gathering.
