  • Wednesday, Feb. 1: Early Release is scheduled at the ECEC, SRES, and ALA.
  • Thursday, Feb. 2: Every First Thursday of the month is College Wear Day for all staff and students at Salt River Schools (flyer attached). This initiative began several years ago as a fun way to promote higher education. It's so fun to see students rocking t-shirts, hats, socks, pins, ties, and whatever else shows off that college spirit.
  • Thursday, Feb. 2: The ECEC invites all adult male figures involved in an ECEC student's life to join us for Burritos for Dad, a meet and greet event with Life Enhancement and Resource Network Fatherhood Program staff. Stop by for breakfast, stay for the conversation, and discover how your involvement and participation will benefit your child's education experience. Questions? Call or text 480-241-1854.
  • Friday, Feb. 3: Join Higher Education staff, as well as featured guest speakers within and around the Community the first Friday of the month from 10 a.m. to noon via MS Teams. The Higher Education First Friday Chats are open to all and feature important information about college and career-related topics, including applications, funding, scholarships, counseling, and so much more!
  • Friday, Feb. 3: Help Salt River Elementary School raise some dough by making a carryout order at Peter Piper Pizza (Mesa Riverview location) on Friday, Feb. 3, from 5-8 p.m. Orders for the fundraiser will help SRES earn 15% per order! Questions? Call SRES at 480-362-2400.

  • Tuesday, Feb. 7 is the annual Kinder Roundup at SRES! You and your soon-to-be kindergartner are invited to meet our amazing staff and teachers, explore classrooms and on-site programs, and enroll your child(ren) for the 2023-24 school year! Bring the kiddos! There will be activities, school and Community resources, and MORE!
  • Tuesday, Feb. 21: Salt River Schools Community Forum (more details to come)!

  •  February 1 is World Read Aloud Day and the official launch of the second annual Salt River Family Read Aloud Challenge, which runs from Wednesday, February 1, through Wednesday, May 3. Families are challenged to read 25 books—there are lots of chances to win fabulous prizes! Each family will receive a FREE Read-Aloud Family Journal to record the books and stories they read. This is open to ALL SRPMIC families. Click here to learn more.
  • Nike N7 Sports (in partnership with the Notah Begay III Foundation, First Tee-Phoenix, and US Sports Camps) will provide sport and educational opportunities for youth ages 7-17 from SRPMIC, GRIC and Ak-Chin Indian Communities. All genders, all abilities, and experience levels will be provided the opportunity to attend camps with top national/local coaches (two of the camps will be held at the Accelerated Learning Academy!). More information can be found in the attached flyer.

We hope you can join us at these events – your participation and support is so appreciated! Have a wonderful week! Questions? Give us a call at 480-362-2500 or email [email protected]
